The Bouge d’ici Dance Festival was founded in 2009 to support the Montréal dance community, particularly emerging contemporary artists. It was founded as a reaction to the lack of realistic opportunities for emerging choreographers and dancers to present their work in professional contexts. The Bouge d’ici festival celebrates Montréal based dance from January 6-16, 2016 in Montréal’s Plateau Mont-Royal neighbourhood. Various events are taking place throughout the week, including a run of the Common Space / L’Espace Commun showcase, the Cabaret Bouge d’ici, a dance-video evening and dance-related workshops. The Bouge d’ici Dance Festival is produced by Théâtre MainLine Theatre.
Bouge d’ici presents a multidisciplinary evening of performances to support the Bouge d’ici Dance Festival.
Performances and work by Maxine Segalowitz, Jacy Lafontaine, Hannah Dorozio & Jen Viens, Brittney Canda Gerring and a screening of YOU CAN TAKE THE STREETS AND RULE THEM BECAUSE WE ARE OF THE SKY by Eduardo Menz, choreographed by Patrick Lloyd Brennan!
