Slow Dance Night

Slow Dance nights are conceived and hosted by Sherwin Sullivan Tjia. The nights run regularly in Montreal and Toronto. With a lending library of designated dancers for all you wallflowers, and a dancecard-booklet to set up dances in advance (should you choose to), a Slowdance Night has all slow songs, all night long… (Except for the occasional intermission when we play the fastest songs we can find!)

It’s high school with a happy ending. Come and experience why slow is beautiful, and why love is not ironic.

PS. Fabulous and inspired attire, while desired, is not required. But would be AWESOME & HAWT. Finally, you do not have to be queer to attend this party, but you must have an open mind, an open heart, and have open arms.

Bouge TAP Workshop with Jessica Alley

Back by popular demand! For those who have never put tap shoes on, those who are experts, and everyone in between. If you don’t have tap shoes, please wear hard sole shoes. This workshop will be taught in English. Taught by Jessica Alley.

Jessica Alley grew up in Nova Scotia dancing competitively in jazz, tap, lyrical and ballet. After obtaining a B.A. in English Literature from Mount St. Vincent University, she moved to Montreal where she’s enjoyed the abundance of art, theatre and dance that permeates this vibrant city. Her interest in contemporary dance led her to Berlin last fall to participate in SMASH, a two month physical performance intensive. With plans to pursue more contemporary training, Jessica currently takes dance classes in different styles, tap dances as her character Zelda Blue, and is an online editorial intern with The Dance Current.
